The Good Food Box is a non-profit community initiative that allows individuals and families to purchase a variety of nutritious, delicious and fresh vegetables and fruit at wholesale prices. The program that runs like a large buying club. Anyone who wishes to purchase a box is welcome.

Each month, customers pre-pay $17 (large) or $8 (small) for a box of fresh fruits and vegetables. Small boxes can also be upgraded to a ‘Wellness Box’ that contains portioned produce such as carrot sticks and broccoli florets. It’s perfect for busy households and seniors who find chopping difficult. Wellness Boxes cost $10 and are currently only available to order in person from the Good Food Box host sites.

The Good Food Box Coordinator uses these deposits to place a bulk order through local distributors and producers.

Food is then delivered to the packing site where volunteers separate the variety of fruits and vegetables into individual boxes.  The boxes are then distributed throughout the Sudbury region to host sites where the boxes are to be picked up.

Each box contains the same mix of fruits and vegetables

The boxes are always below market price

There are at least two local food item in each box, with numbers varying by season
